One Sacrifice For All Time September 25, 2016 Under the Law of Moses many repetitive animal sacrifices had to be offered. When Christ offered Himself for the sins of the world, He was the last sacrifice whose blood was to be offered for sins. He was one sacrifice, offered one time, for all time. - Bernie Parsons |

One Sacrifice For All Time
a sermon by Bernie Parsons
Presented to the Globe church of Christ on 10-09-2016
Presented to the Load church of Christ on 10-16-2016
Jesus died on the cross as a scapegoat, a sin offering and a passover –
one time for all time.
Scapegoat to carry away the sins of the people to make atonement
Leviticus 16:8 "And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot
for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat.
9 And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot fell, and
offer him for a sin offering.
10 But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be
presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to
let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness."
Jesus the Lamb takes away sins in the true temple of God.
Hebrews 10:3 "But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made
of sins every year.
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should
take away sins."
John 1:29 "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith,
Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."
1 John 3:5 "And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins;
and in him is no sin."
Goat killed as a sin offering under the Law of Moses
Leviticus 16:9 "And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot
fell, and offer him for a sin offering."
Leviticus 6:24 "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
25 Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin
offering: In the place where the burnt offering is killed shall the sin
offering be killed before the LORD: it is most holy.
26 The priest that offereth it for sin shall eat it: in the holy place
shall it be eaten, in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation."
Jesus killed as a sin offering one time for all time in the true temple.
Hebrews 10:10 "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering
of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes
the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever,
sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are
sanctified."
Offering of incense under the Law of Moses.
Exodus 30:7 "And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning:
when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it.
8 And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon
it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.
9 Ye shall offer no strange incense thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor
meat offering; neither shall ye pour drink offering thereon."
Offering of incense in the spiritual temple.
Revelation 8:3 "And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a
golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should
offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was
before the throne.
4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the
saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand."
Peace offering of thanksgiving under the Law of Moses.
Leviticus 7:11 "And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings,
which he shall offer unto the LORD.
12 If he offer it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the
sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and
unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine
flour, fried.
13 Besides the cakes, he shall offer for his offering leavened bread
with the sacrifice of thanksgiving of his peace offerings."
Offering of thanksgiving in the true temple.
Hebrews 13:15 "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to
God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his
name.
16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such
sacrifices God is well pleased."
Passover lamb without blemish offered under the Law of Moses
Exodus 12:5 "Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first
year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month:
and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in
the evening.
7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts
and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and
unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it."
Exodus 12:21 "Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said
unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and
kill the passover.
22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is
in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the
blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of
his house until the morning.
23 For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he
seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD
will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in
unto your houses to smite you."
Passover lamb without blemish in the true temple of God
John 1:35 "Again the next day after John stood, and two of his
disciples;
36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of
God!"
1 Peter 1:18 "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with
corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation
received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish
and without spot:"
1 Corinthians 5:7 "Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a
new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is
sacrificed for us:
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the
leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of
sincerity and truth."
Luke 22:15 "And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat
this passover with you before I suffer:
16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be
fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide
it among yourselves:
18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until
the kingdom of God shall come.
19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them,
saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance
of me.
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new
testament in my blood, which is shed for you."
Jesus, sacrificed one time for all time, replaced all the sacrifices
that were offered under the Law of Moses. He is the sacrifice in the
true temple of God.
