Some Things That God Loves July 14 2013 We can study the things that God does not want us to do, but perhaps more important is to study what He does want us to do. If we will study what God expects of us, we will concentrate upon that, and the opposite, negative aspects will naturally stand as unacceptable behavior. Bernie Parsons |

The last lesson covered seven things that God hates, so that we can know and
avoid those. In this lesson, I want us to consider the opposite of those
things that God hates, or what He loves.
(1)
God hates a proud look, but He loves humility
Proverbs 15:33 "The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and
before honour is humility."
Proverbs 22:4 “By humility and the fear of the
LORD are riches, and honour, and life.”
Matthew 23:12 “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he
that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”
(2)
God hates a lying tongue, but He loves the truth
Proverbs 12:22 "Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal
truly are his delight."
John 3:21 “But he that doeth truth cometh to the
light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
1 Corinthians 5:8 “Therefore
let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of
malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and
truth.”
Ephesians 4:25 “Wherefore
putting away lying, speak every man truth with his
neighbour: for we are members one of another.”
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever
things are honest, whatsoever things are
just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are
lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any
virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
(3)
God hates hands that shed innocent blood, but He loves those who save lives
John 15:12 “This
is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay
down his
life for his friends.”
1 John 3:16 "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his
life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and
shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God
in him?
18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in
deed and in truth."
James 2:15 "If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled;
notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body;
what doth it profit?"
2 Corinthians 8:13 "For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
14 But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply
for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want:
that there may be equality:"
(4)
God hates a heart that devises wicked plans, but loves those who plan to do
good
Proverbs 14:22 "Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall
be to them that devise good."
Psalms 1:1 "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the
ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the
scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate
day and night."
Ephesians 4:23 "And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in
righteousness and true holiness."
Hebrews 10:22 "Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of
faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies
washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is
faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:"
(5)
God hates feet that run swiftly to cause mischief, but he loves those who
take time to consider right and wrong
Proverbs 16:1 "The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the
tongue, is from the LORD.
2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the
spirits.
3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established."
Proverbs 14:29 "He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he
that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly."
James 1:19 "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear,
slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God."
(6)
God hates a false witness who speaks lies, but he loves those who tell the
truth
Proverbs 14:5 "A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will
utter lies.”
Proverbs 12:17 "He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a
false witness deceit."
Zechariah 8:16 "These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man
the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your
gates:
17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour;
and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the
LORD."
Ephesians 4:25 "Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his
neighbour: for we are members one of another."
(7)
God hates one who sows discord among brothers, but He loves the peacemakers
– sends or spreads discord among kindred
Matthew 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the
children of God."
James 3:18 "And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that
make peace."
Colossians 3:12 "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved,
bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a
quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of
perfectness.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are
called in one body; and be ye thankful."
Let us not do those things that God hates, but let us pursue those things
that He loves in us, and expects from us. This will assure that we walk and
live in Him.
