The Real Jew October 05, 2014 The apostle Paul explained that Abraham was blessed because of his faith, coupled with his obedience, when God spoke to him, making him certain promises. He also explained that we who now believe, trust, and obey God are counted as spiritual Jews -- the true Jews. It takes more than the bloodline of Abraham to save a person, it takes the blood of Jesus, and faith that He is the song of God, the savior of the world. - Bernie Parsons |

God promised Israel and Judah that He would make a new covenant with them in
the latter days – that is, when the Law of Moses would draw to a close. He
also promised a new prophet.
Deuteronomy 18:15 "The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from
the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the
day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my
God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have
spoken.
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee,
and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I
shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words
which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him."
He was speaking of Jesus Christ, who, like Moses, would bring the laws of
God to man.
Acts 3:19 "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be
blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of
the Lord;
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all
things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since
the world began.
22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God
raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all
things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that
prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as
many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days."
Of course, Jesus did come and bring the will and word of God in later times.
Hebrews 1:1 "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time
past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed
heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his
person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by
himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance
obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this
day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall
be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith,
And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his
ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a
sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy
God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows."
As promised, God sent his son, Jesus, to the Jews first, and Jesus then
commissioned the apostle Paul to take the gospel to the Gentiles.
Romans 10:1 "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is,
that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to
knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to
establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the
righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that
believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man
which doeth those things shall live by them."
It is one thing to be religious, and zealously so, but God demands obedience
rather than religiousness. Otherwise, we are found to be self-righteous.
Romans 10:12 "For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for
the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how
shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they
hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How
beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring
glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath
believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Jew and Gentile are one in the eyes of God. Like Abraham, our obedience
comes by faith. Our faith comes by listening to God and trusting His word.
In these latter times, He has spoken through His son, Jesus. What made
Abraham righteous will make us righteous.
Romans 2:17 "Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and
makest thy boast of God,
18 And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent,
being instructed out of the law;
19 And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of
them which are in darkness,
20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of
knowledge and of the truth in the law.
21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou
that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit
adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law
dishonourest thou God?
24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it
is written.
25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a
breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall
not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law,
judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that
circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the
heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but
of God."
The word Jew is derived from Judah, one of the twelve sons (tribes) of
Israel (Jacob). Judah, made up of the families of Judah and Benjamin, was
the kingdom that served God the longest. Israel (the nation, not the man)
broke away as the remaining ten of the twelve tribes.
Like Abraham, the true Jew is not one by bloodline, but by faith. We
Christians are the true Jews, spiritually speaking, rather than those of the
fleshly bloodlines.
We Christians are the children of the new covenant.
