The True And Living God November 02, 2014 The scriptures detail the interaction that God had with His creation, including Adam, Abraham and Moses. He proved Himself to be real -- the true and the living God. He was no figment of man's imagination. He is. - Bernie Parsons |

Critics of those of us who believe in a Creator God try to pass our God off
as a myth, a figment of man’s imagination. They saw that we cannot see Him,
and He refuses to interact with us. This is not the truth – there is a
millennia-long history of God’s interaction with His creation.
After creating Adam and Eve, He interacted with them.
Genesis 3:8 "And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden
in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the
presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I
was naked; and I hid myself.
11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the
tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me
of the tree, and I did eat.
13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done?
And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat."
God spoke to Noah in order to save him and his family in the deluge.
Genesis 6:13 "And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before
me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will
destroy them with the earth.
14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and
shalt pitch it within and without with pitch."
The Lord personally asked Abraham to leave his father’s home and go to a new
place to live.
Genesis 12:1 "Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country,
and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will
shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make
thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:
and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."
God appeared again to Abraham to ask his obedience and announce their
forthcoming son.
Genesis 17:1 "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD
appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me,
and be thou perfect.
2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee
exceedingly."
Genesis 17:15 "And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt
not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless
her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her."
The Lord visited Abraham to tell of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Genesis 18:1 "And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he
sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and
when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself
toward the ground,
3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away,
I pray thee, from thy servant:"
Genesis 18:17 "And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which
I do;
18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and
all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after
him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment;
that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and
because their sin is very grievous;
21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according
to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know."
God spoke to Moses out of the burning bush, in the holy mountain, and in the
tabernacle.
Exodus 3:2 "And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire
out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with
fire, and the bush was not consumed.
3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the
bush is not burnt.
4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out
of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet,
for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God
of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to
look upon God."
Exodus 3:11 "And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto
Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?
12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token
unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people
out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain."
Exodus 33:9 "And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the
cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the
LORD talked with Moses.
10 And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door:
and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.
11 And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his
friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son
of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle."
Numbers 14:14 "And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for
they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art
seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou
goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of
fire by night.
15 Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which
have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,
16 Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he
sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness."
God spoke in the time of Jesus in the flesh.
Mark 1:9 "And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth
of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened,
and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in
whom I am well pleased."
Mark 9:2 "And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and
John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he
was transfigured before them.
3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller
on earth can white them.
4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with
Jesus.
5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be
here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses,
and one for Elias
6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the
cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more,
save Jesus only with themselves."
Add to this the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, the raising of the dead
and the healing of the sick, and the helpful appearance of angels to the
apostles in time of need, and you see that we worship a very real God – the
true and the living God.
Jeremiah 10:10 "But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an
everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations
shall not be able to abide his indignation."
